Environmental consulting services required by the Commission may include preparation of Environmental Impact Reports (EIR) or Negative Declarations (ND), design and monitoring of environmental mitigation measures, and preparation of related environmental analysis and documentation regarding proposed leases or permits for use of State-owned sovereign or school lands. Typical projects include, but are not limited to, construction of new pipelines, construction and placement of conduits, innerducts and fiber optic cables (marine and/or terrestrial), marine oil terminals (proposed facilities or modifications to existing facilities), new or modified oil production or transportation facilities and the construction of marinas or docks.
The County has an interest in ensuring that the consultants retained by applicants are professional and maintain the technical and professional expertise necessary for the production of accurate, well-organized, and clearly written environmental documents. Therefore, the County, through its Department of Regional Planning (Department), seeks to establish an official list of prequalified environmental consultants which may be retained by applicants for private land use development projects. Only consultants who are on the list may prepare environmental review documents for private land use development projects that will be considered by the County.

Recruiting applicants to reside in, and provide security services in, designated Environmental Land parks. Selected applicants will reside in a County owned/managed residence. Environmental Lands Management or law enforcement experience is preferred, however other applicants will be considered. Selections will be based on availability and specific requirements of each location. Selected applicants will be required to sign a contract with the County. Duties and responsibilities may vary depending on location, but generally include providing park security services, land management and will be required to interact with visiting public.
